Victor de Boer

 

Victor de Boer (1979) is lecturer at the VU University and works on Semantic Web and Linked Data applications for the humanities and cultural heritage field. Since 2014 he has worked as a researcher at Sound & Vision's Knowledge and Innovation department. There Victor deals with the question of what the added value of Linked Data can be for Sound & Vision and other heritage institutions. He worked on a method for automatic annotation of subtitles in television programs and he was part of the DIVE team, where he worked on a demonstrator for linked media.

Victor studied Artificial Intelligence at the University of Amsterdam. He obtained his doctorate in 2010 at the same university with research on automatic knowledge extraction for the cultural heritage domain.
