Europeana Creative stimulated the creative reuse of cultural heritage materials by the European creative industry.
Partners develop 5 pilots within the themes design, education, tourism and social networks. Entrepreneurs from the creative industry are then invited to submit their ideas in an open innovation competition. Winners receive appropriate support to bring their project to the market. The project goals are supported by Europeana Labs, an experimental environment for reusing cultural objects, tools, services, open source code and access to the Europeana API.
Europeana Creative was co-funded by the European Union through the ICT Policy Support Program as part of the Competitiveness and Innovation Framework Program (CIP).
