CCI Thrive explores the potential of cross-sectoral business co-operations and co-productions to shape their own digital transformation and future.

How can digital transformation help cultural and creative industries (CCI) to thrive? Global CCI actors have been exploiting intelligent technologies to design new production and business models and create new revenue sources. But access to data, tools and skills is not easily attainable, especially for small and less commercialised sectors.

CCI Thrive aims to increase the competitiveness of CCIs by fostering cross-sectoral collaboration and creative co-productions. It seems collaborative and data-driven business models as an opportunity to improve knowledge circulation and valorisation within the CCIs, as well as improve the contribution of CCIs to other economic sectors and society. Through experimentation, the project will explore and propose scenarios that combine market-oriented aspects with non-market values such as ethic, cultural, ecological, and social purposes.

Specifically the project will: 

  • Assess the potential application of existing digital solutions along the creative value chain by different sectors in the CCI;
  • Facilitate knowledge and experience exchange amongst stakeholder of different CCI sectors and explore opportunities for data-driven business approaches;
  • Offer recommendations for cross-sectoral use and sharing of data as well as the tools that would provide the best support for CCI stakeholders, including micro companies and SME;
  • Make available scenarios and tools for innovative business models with non-market values such as ethic, cultural, ecological and social purposes.
     

Sound & Vision
In the project, Sound & Vision is leading research activities to investigate the potential of various digital tools - including those for semantic modelling, metadata enrichment and data analytics - to support cross-sector collaborations and data sharing.
 

AI4Media is funded by the European Union’s Creative Europe programme.
